SUCCESS
STORIES

The CHORE Foundation helps guide our inner city's youth to achieve positive and rewarding life-long outcomes.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS.

Charlotte Manford

I am an Aurora University Graduate with my bachelors degree in Nursing BSN. I was born in Ghana but raised in Virginia. When I came to Illinois as a young child with not much experience, I was fortunate enough to meet members of the CHORE Foundation. They have helped me achieve many of my goals and more. I was able to participate in many events that helped me learn the basic life skills of survival.

Deshawn Hughes

I am currently a member of the U.S Army. When I was introduced to the CHORE Foundation I wasn’t sure what to do after graduating high school. I worked many jobs trying to provide for my family the best way I could. After working with CHORE Foundation they helped me build up my strength healthwise and physically enough to sign up for the Army. I have now dedicated 3 years to my country and I couldn’t be more proud.

Chidiebele Ozodi

I am from Nigeria. I am currently a self-contractor. Before becoming independent, I ran into some trouble during my early years of college. I was blessed to be introduced to the President of the CHORE Foundation who not only helped me get back on my feet, but also provided me with housing. I was granted many opportunities of work that encouraged me to become freelance. I am truly thankful to my mentors of the CHORE Foundation for teaching me skills that I can use in my day to day life.

Kyle Johnson

I attended HVAC Tech Institute where I completed and received my electrical technician certification. I was looking forward to joining electrical union 134 to have a more solid career with benefits and insurance for myself and family. I was unable to do so, but was then introduced to the CHORE Foundation. They introduced me to a new career path with the operators local 150. The CHORE Foundation’s program and mentoring has helped me make this life-changing move that I’m enjoying currently today. Thank you CHORE Foundation.

Kevin Smith

I am a Roosevelt University graduate with a Bachelors degree in graphic design and computer science. I connected with the CHORE Foundation back in 2020 shortly after I graduated. I was welcomed to come and volunteer at events. At a specific event, I was fortunate enough to meet and connect with my future Executive Director, Kaia Dutler, at Comp-U-Dopt. She brought me in for an interview after we met, and not too shortly after I was granted a spot on their team where I worked for a year as the operations manager. Thanks to my mentors of the CHORE Foundation I was able to learn countless different values and knowledge and performed them at my job with Comp-U-Dopt.
